About TELEMED
Telemed is a pioneer in PC-based ultrasound imaging technology. Established in 1992 by three visionary young engineers, our company embarked on a journey to revolutionize the world of diagnostic ultrasound. Telemed founders believed that real-time ultrasound beamforming combined with the power of the PC and the Internet can change the paradigm of ultrasound imaging.
Telemed's early ideas included harnessing the processing power of computer processors and graphic cards instead of traditional microcontrollers. We also saw the potential in the emerging USB technology and began our journey with USB 1.0, progressing through USB 2.0, and now seamlessly integrating USB3 and USB-C interfaces into our latest designs.
Fun fact: One of our first achievements was the development of a completely analogue ultrasound system with no microcontroller, featuring a smart solution for passing ultrasound signals to a CRT display without the need for costly A/D and D/A conversion. This was the very first device approved for medical diagnostics in independent Lithuania.
Pioneering Digital Transformation
In 1993, Telemed unveiled its first ultrasound scanner that used a desktop computer for processing ultrasound signals. This innovative system featured a separate analogue beamformer unit connected to a computer motherboard via an ISA card, marking a significant leap forward in the field of medical imaging technology.
Supplying the Industry
In 2000, Telemed reached a significant milestone by signing its first international EM supply agreement, solidifying Telemed's reputation as a trusted supplier of OEM components to the medical industry, laying the foundation for years of successful collaborations.
Since then, Telemed has continued to innovate, releasing a series of scanners and OEM components that have garnered high praise for their performance and reliability. With the introduction of the ArtUs scanner, Telemed tapped into new markets by offering an optional RF module that gave researchers access to RF and channel data offline and in real-time, all at a fraction of the cost compared to other providers.
Involvement in ThrombUS+
In the ThrombUS+ project, Telemed collaborates with manufacturers of wearable ultrasound transducers on integration ultrasound processing modules for continuous monitoring and provides ultrasound data for AI algorithms to improve deep vein thrombosis detection.
As an EN ISO 9001 / EN ISO 13485 certified company, Telemed will develop beamformers and electronics for ultrasound transducers control and the software tools for ultrasound signal collection and image formation.
